nice idea...

really like the lines used and the simple block shading / smudging.... however i feel that it could be touched up alot as some areas of shading dont reach the lines... its rather messy and in places just sloppy... it somewhat looks like his missing a leg under the torso... its so beefy and chunky that armor his leg doesnt seem to apear where i think it should... but thats just me... if you were to touch the shading and colours up to a neater standard... spend a bit more time doing some details and the like... (i can see you have done some) but its rather rushed in my eyes...

Rhunyc responds:

Yeah... I know exactly what you mean.

The big thing I focused on while making this were that the details were there... Not if they were in proportion. xD And, in retrospect, I really should have. :P

I think I might go back and have another go, but thanks for the detailed crit man, it's awfully appreciated.

your artwork is getting better!

every time i see some of your new artwork the quality has improved since the last one... i love the tones in this used... however i feel that she is somewhat squashed fron the hips upwards... and possibly a very large head... who knows :P... but im likeing the style :3

JKAmovies responds:

Thanks, I actually feel that I'm improving as well. I think I'm getting more used to drawing digitally now, I'm doing it much more lately too and which might also be another reason.

I think the head is a little odd from the body myself, but I dunno :3

Thanks~JKAmovies.

woah, love the green tone

very artistic and sketchy / blocky but i love it... the overall shape and size of everything looks spot on... athough i feel her hand on her head seems to have sunk into her hair and apear to be coming out the other side... the green tone is lovley and the odd lighting in the picture is really well done... a really outstanding piece of work, if you were to spend a bit more time on it to neaten it up... refine the lines and blur in them shades... it would be wonderfull... but as it stands... its still amazing!

trueWolF responds:

Thanks, i was told the same thing by many others. this piece does have it's flaws.. it's a speed paint after all, and i'm not that good yet to get perfection in an hour n a half :D hopefully soon though with practice. but yeah, i was thinkin of fixing her up a bit, however i also feel like moving onto a couple of other pieces that i've been workin on for a month or so.

small issue..

i really like this work, the chalk colours?.. simple and highly artistic piece... how ever, i feel that his finger *first finger* and thumb on his right hand is far to thin... they seem almost alien like... i dont know if this was done from a photo, but it could use with some beefing up... apart from that the lighting is well done and love the overall use of the tones... nice one ornery

ornery responds:

I knew i would be getting the thin finger critique. Whats hilarious is that my fingers are really really thin and look like that. Also the angle and lighting make it look even more exaggerated.

please note...

this picture breaks the rules of newgrounds... as the pictures you are including are not your own... please keep this on your own personal profile and do not add to the portal as the images in your work are not your own... this also goes for sig pack 1 and 2... i hope you understand this warning and replace this artwork in your personal art area... thank you

*no stars beacuse this is only partly your work*

Marsupial responds:

erm so from now on i should submit these as scraps to my own profile? ok im only planning to do one more for now anyway.

and thanks for the favourite on bloodstorm

nice style

very cartoon like but at the same time... realistic... almost comic style... i would recommend paying attention in class and doing the proper work... as for the artwork.. the lines are very well done and smooth... shading is good in places where you havent smudged it by accident... would like to see you do some work on plain paper for a change... but the pen really picks out the details well... a good job!

Zepizza responds:

Yeah, well, there are obvious mistakes in that drawing, if you look closely to the "webs", you'll see that I haven't shaded around them, but since that was a "for fun" drawing, I kinda liked it.

I'm just finishing another "classtime" drawing and I think I'll do in a proper paper.
The pen isn't ballpoint pen, I don't know the name, but remembers a small and compact brush, it is really cool, it made the comic-like impression.

Thanks for the tips.

reminds me of gaudi's early work...

with the sky background a red line with a red kite attacted to it...

very nice... very simple... like the realisticness of the painting with the score marks of a brush / rough paint comb... i cant tell if this is a real painting or a computer made one... the background screaming with realistic but that ballon looks to perfect to be painted.. nice work... but like i said i think the simplisty of it is to much... im not saying more should be going on... but i feel that its not artistic enough to be a artwork you would hang on a wall... its just my thoughts... but a very good job non the less...

idiot-monarch responds:

It was made in Photoshop.

Thanks for the crits.

some one say starcraft!?

nice work on this one... whats it done with? penicle and charcoal?
anway... like the zerg touches on this one.... the female ghost is very well done and highly detailed... i feel areas in the background have been neglected and your main time was spent on the girl... for example... the wire/cable along the floor isnt great nor well shaded... love how you did the cloaking effect... overall a good job... just needs tiny adjustments to be perfect

Xionscar responds:

Thanks!!

You're totally right.. This needs to be cleaned up a bit, and detailed in certain areas!
I'm not sure I'll go back over this one though... I've since learned how to set pictures up for painting and this would be a pain in the rump, to say the least.

In that, I mean, I don't do as much graphite work these days... mainly focus on digital paintings... :D
