reminds me of gaudi's early work...

with the sky background a red line with a red kite attacted to it...

very nice... very simple... like the realisticness of the painting with the score marks of a brush / rough paint comb... i cant tell if this is a real painting or a computer made one... the background screaming with realistic but that ballon looks to perfect to be painted.. nice work... but like i said i think the simplisty of it is to much... im not saying more should be going on... but i feel that its not artistic enough to be a artwork you would hang on a wall... its just my thoughts... but a very good job non the less...

idiot-monarch responds:

It was made in Photoshop.

Thanks for the crits.

some one say starcraft!?

nice work on this one... whats it done with? penicle and charcoal?
anway... like the zerg touches on this one.... the female ghost is very well done and highly detailed... i feel areas in the background have been neglected and your main time was spent on the girl... for example... the wire/cable along the floor isnt great nor well shaded... love how you did the cloaking effect... overall a good job... just needs tiny adjustments to be perfect

Xionscar responds:

Thanks!!

You're totally right.. This needs to be cleaned up a bit, and detailed in certain areas!
I'm not sure I'll go back over this one though... I've since learned how to set pictures up for painting and this would be a pain in the rump, to say the least.

In that, I mean, I don't do as much graphite work these days... mainly focus on digital paintings... :D

not bad for a speed paint

the face is very well done for a timed piece... however the rest really shows how much of your time you spent on it... the body is very strange... almost hunch backed, twisted and warped... doesnt really have much distinction to it... its like a large block, the spikes on the shoulder look like some sort of bad welder put it together... i would really like to this this redone and touched up... it has potentional but in its current state its not great...

mrbob0822 responds:

Hey, thanks for the critique! It's tough writing a critical review providing helpful things for an artist to work on, but you've given me plenty to think about and apply to future pieces.

Thanks again!

love the colours...

fine shading and rather simple lines... love the tiny details on this and the work on the face... i really like how the background is made to look like and edge of a table or chair of somesort... i would say neaten up the lines as they are slighly wobbly and touch up the shade a bit to be a tad stronger... a really nice starter piece

MattakuShinzu responds:

Yeah, I drew this back when I still had my really really crappy tablet, so I'm not happy at all with the line work.

matt like girls!?!... what this!

ok ok... form an ART point of view... the lines are VERY messy (just look at HER right hand)... also theres an area which is peach not white/grey there as well.. simple cloth work and shades which are nice... slightly squished face, her hands are horrid, along with the lack of wrists and the thickness of her arm after the elbow... (you see where i mean)... areas i like are the fine details on the underwear and on her hair... the glasses and rose are a nice touch, also im not sure on the fading out at the bottom of the picture... i dont think it suits it...

overview... tidy it up, get the sizes and colours right... square it off nicely and possibly add a spash of colour to the background mabey... who knows... but not bad for some old work... 6/10

love the comic feel to this...

a few points i would like to make... the size of this is highly different to most artwork on here... the detail and suttle shading and lines give it that edge and the contrast is spot on... it really has that comic feel to it and is very well done... keeping in mind that this is for a comic... it hits all the right notes... 10/10

intresting

love the background, love the detail... love everything about it... the lighting on the armor is correct and looks fab, the posture of the body is correct along with the lengths and details... very well done and i cant pick a single flaw out...
(apart from possibly the wings starting a little far down)

Loved this one Vortex

apart from the blaten fact that they are about to pop out... i really like how you draw and detail all your work... the lines are simple and fine and the shading is just perfect!!!... and with the background echoing the main feature its just a perfect example of what you can do :3... once again im not keen on the eyes, i feel they seem out of place slightly... but thats mostly me... however this time they dont seem so bright compaired to the rest as its very brightly coloured and toned... 9/10

Vortex00 responds:

Whats going to be awesome is when I finish the games and animations with this level of work O_O! She was supposed to be looking down at *ahem* her assets, but it's difficult for me to draw this and have it look 100% correct. Maybe I will master it later when I can get a chance. Thx for the review!

read this backwards!?!?

pain... ah the pain... anway onto the artwork... simple flash style shading... nice bold outline and cartoon feel... slightly strange and twisted joke, priceless exspresion on the (number 2.. no pun intended) cat... but seriously.. reading it backwards is just nasty... why whould you be happy? :3... O.O... o_o...

an intresting conscept...

intertesting ideas

first off... we can all see it isnt finished... for what is partly finished the finalproduct would be amazing... the art portal tends to frown apon unfinished work been put into the public eye... i can see alot of work went into it and alot of detail as well but as it stands is not a good example... so... from what i can see of it... i dont understand what that grey (smoke? / Movement) area is... some of the linework on the left arm seems to be thiner then the line work on the leg... or not as bold... and no shading... i really like this but im afriad without seeing the finished product i cant help you improve much...
