lovely!

this is a great way of working on char ideas and develpoment... love the mix of ideas here... the colours really work well... like some more then others but overall a really nice piece... like how neatly each one is lined out... nice style as well... seen as there is alot to look at... theres going to be some minor issues with aligments and sizes... there is a few i can spot but nothing major... cant wait for your next piece...

Sabtastic responds:

The allignment is terrible - but I slapped it all together at 2am last night, so my apologies! XD haha

Thanks~!! :)

love it!

the time spent "painting" the background and all the small textures used... i love the clouds and how the wood is dabbled and the far end of the pier bends into the wood as if there was some sort of bright shine from it... i feel that the girl is going to tople over onto her side just a bit... also her elbows should stick out more for her hands to be that far up... unless they are bending backwards... if so you need to add more shading to her uper arms to give that depth... if you break it down you have used some very simple lines here but its a fantastic result... i love the attention to detail... nearly top marks! 9/10

interesting style...

like the simple bold colours... really nice use of shading and linework... a tad strange but hey... why not... everything looks fine... cant pick out any flaws... might want to tidy up the linework a bit... but apart from that... great work... the background is a bit strange as well... :S

a few issues

first of... egnore all the 40k fantatics... i may be one to... but i spend more time painting then playing... anway... first main issue i have with it is... well... how long is someones chest?... you can see the belt... however his trousers finish before the *skirt* bit... just make the legs go up under the *skirt* so it doesnt look as strange... also perspective... your trying to do two different perspectives in one picture... some people can pull this off... but there isnt really enough image to play with seen as the background is mono toned... so i would sugest making his right leg longer and a bit closer to counter that... also sort his right foot out... looks like a lump of metal... then move his hips over to the right side of the page a bit more... its a nice sketchy picture but has a lot of flaws in it... nice work but not the best iv seen you do... Ciao

liking the details...

4 hours?... seems about right... loving the shades and simple details in this piece... the bold outline seems to be popular at the moment if a few artists... minor issues like the earings need to be smoother as they seem a bit crumpled / joined up... unless they arnt full rings... (i dont know about these things)... overall a really nice piece... the simple bold cartoon feel mixxed with the deep colours and shading is a really nice piece... might want to think about making the glove a bit thiner and her arm longer so it doesnt seem as false... but thats just my views... i really love it... keep it up :3

another day... another piece

well.. its got your style... but i feel its to basic... its very well shaded with the three tones making depth, but like i said... if its going to be simple... it needs to really be bold... and make a statement to be artistic to cover the lack things going on... the lines seem flawlessly smooth, however on the helm... thing... the light shows it has an indent where as the shadow doesnt mirror this so it seems a bit strange... you also have a fine line going all the way around the picture... i dont know if you ment to do that or not :D

JKAmovies responds:

Yeah, I always put a thicker outline around the edge of my drawings^^

I think anything can be submitted to the art portal, simple or not. . . that's the point of the portal.

Thanks for the review :D

cant wait to play it

yes it looks cool and all.. but its rather basic to be putting it in the art portal dont you think?... screen shot of a game?... rather basic colours and shading... nicely done and all but i would have kept this to your userpage ;)

JKAmovies responds:

I guess. . . But I just wanted to show some of the art from the game because it had taken ages to do and thought people would appreciate some game shots :3

Thanks for the review mate.

very nicely done...

lovely colours... bright and bold... yet fitting perfectly with the beach theme... the coulds are simple and effective... as well as the lush background... the water has the fantasty feel to it.. its not perefect but its still great... simple background with maxium effect... i also love how you made this piece longer... its a really nice touch...
nice wet/driping water and flawless shine effects, the glass bowl and reflection from the leg... the amazing use of lighting and shading, possibly requires some attention on the blue girls right arm *the one holding the goggles* with shading issues... apart from that im finding it hard to pick out flaws in this wonderfully done piece... the amount of knowledge and effects used is outstanding... well done!

good lines...

but i would have kept this to yourself.... yeah its a nice piece of work and the manga quality is top notch... but as the title sugests this is just a practice peice... not a finish product... i have seen what else you are capable of and this just seems half hearted... just take the "background" its not very clean compaired to the rest of the picture... and the hair doesnt look finished or as clean as the face...

MangArtist responds:

Yeah, it kinda was half-hearted to tell the truth. I spent most of my time on the eyes and ran out of ideas for the rest of it. (I also suck at digitally drawing hair) I also just wanted to call it done cause I had other projects I needed to work on. I'm currently working on another picture with my tablet and I plan on putting more effort into it.
Really, I posted this mostly just for critiques and tips.

Thanks, though! :D

you need to work on your girls...

you got your own style here no problem... but she is very chunky... a rather large head and arms to knock out the mightyest of warriors... it looks really odd... i like the shorts and the shading on them... just need to work on making everything more femenin... at the moment i have to agree with the majority of people about it...

JKAmovies responds:

Yah I know, that's the reason I'm drawing so many chicks lately, so I can learn a women's anatomy/body shape and heads. I am still learning (as I said below).

I have pretty much found my individual drawing style/shading and lighting, just need to learn a little more on the human body and how to get it looking right e.g muscles, faces, different body movements etc =/

Thanks^^
