i see where the time was spent

on the face and "teeth"... its very nice... it may not be all to that detail but it gives it a sort of focus effect... where the rest of the creature is out of focus... a great monster creation... i really like the slobbery parts... you seem to have captured it very well... 10/10

so hard to tell...

i honestly cant make out that is drawn, the level of focus to maintain the level of quality is outstanding... although the areas that i feel let it down are where you have the baby's hair "blending" in with the shirt/hair... it seems too blurred... i take it you used a photo to work from because apart from that tiny imperfection... i cant tell the difference...

banegame responds:

Yes, I used photo reference for this. It's a gift to the little girl for her 1st birthday. Not much to play with, but I've printed, laminated and framed it, so she'll have it much longer than her 1st year learning toys and such. I think a gift like this means a lot more than a trip to the local WALMART! Anyway, thank you, and as is common with art, perfection is hard to obtain. So much detail in photorealism that it's hard to stay focused when you just want to move on to the next detail. Even though it took only 10 hours, it felt like weeks...

Thanks!

alot of work gone into this...

very cool... although i suppose there would be more frames for the animation purpose... its very detailed compared to the vast amount of games churned out daily... love how much detail has gone into this and the logic behind the actions... great shad...ling style....

something about your art...

don't know... but the shading is really effective... do you tend to use other tones in your shading?... the background is very nice and lovely.. although the clouds don't look like you did them (i could be wrong)... nice attention to details vortex :3... Great job

Vortex00 responds:

The clouds was just a brush in photoshop.
I don't often use other tones, mainly because I don't draw backgrounds too often.
Thanks and thanks for the feedback.

always something...

about your pictures that make them fantasticly magical... i cant put my finger on it... but is bloody awesome... and not just this one... all of them :D...

athough i wouldnt want to sit in a boat in the middle of a lake when "burning starts fall from the sky"... sounds a bit painful if one hit you :P...

cant fault this... i love the off set angle aswell... great work so a massive 10

Kamikaye responds:

Thanks :) Yea well , burning stars. It just needed a little drama.

painfully kid like

the curve of the horizon, the block brightly colored buildings that have been copied and colored differently and don't fit the structure of the planet... the overload of balloons... although kudos for doing them different to each other... and not just massing one balloon 50 times... also might want to look at making the hear shaped box *i think* more toned seen as the rabbit holding it has a vast amount of shades, i don't know if it would work... but i do think the texture over the whole thing helps it a lot...

simples...

now... the thing that's bugging me doc... is the lines on the shield... they need to be going in the same direction if the object is flat... if you follow them from the bottom left... they don't line up... nor does the head seem to make any shadow at all... i have to agree with the others... needs more time spent on it...

i dig...

simple and effective... you have got the right level of simplicity without over doing it or just seeming lazy... the style is good but i think the colors don't work together, I'm going to totally contradict 50/50 and say that the background seems to harsh against the softness of the creature... using softer shades of red/pink or a different color might have worked better in my view...

Luxembourg responds:

I totally agree about the colors. I actually went in and used some color correction on it on Thursday night in order to tone down the colors to a less saturated and more aesthetically pleasing palette, but my program crashed before I could completely finish it and save it. For the most part, I was trying to use a color palette unlike my usual colors, which are usually much darker.
Glad you like it anyways, though.

seriously messed up

colors are trippy and striking... its left eye seems a tad off but looking at it... i don't think that's the worst of its problems :P, the lines are a bit messy but seen as the whole thing is like that then its fine :3... i also have to agree with your comment :P

i like the linework

i think most of the line work is cool... doodles and what not... the spiral thing seems a bit bland, i think it might have worked better if the whole thing was on just the red/white gradient and you hadn't colored in the eyes and teeth. but instead had another white gradient ball as a "spot light" on the rabbit and then working off the shadow like you did with the ears... having four of them is confusing... :P... not bad but i'm sure you could do better ashman :3

Ashman responds:

given more time, a longer attention span, more motivation and more sleep i probably could, but im ok with what i churned out for this flood, even if it was just for this flood
