love your lines, and i love how you went for a half and half mix of the two sketch ups... fantastic stuff!
ironically, I personally think the hair is the best bit, proportion wise you are slightly out, the mouth is smaller then the original image but it looks OK at its current size, the nose is too large as well as the "anime" eyes.. her forehead is shortened as well, her hands are well done... the focus is on the face and i feel everything else shouldn't be as sharp that's why i think her dress near her hands shouldn't be as refined as it draws the attention away from the focus. apart from the eyes and nose (and small dress problem) this is a really good photo study. keep it up!
Thank you very much for the review. I didn't know that the dress near her hands are "that" refined because it's the last part that I did so I'm kind of lazy on that part. Honestly, the first that I did here was her lips because my intention was to practice this kind of art cause I'm more on traditional then as it goes on I planned to finish her. I learned many things from your review so a big thank you again.
Interesting use of textures, I have to admit, its the first time i have seen someone with floral and purple muffin textured hair. the messiness of this really adds to it, nicely done. not sure why the background doesn't line up on the left hand side like it does on the right. it doesn't seem to be helping the composition. however if you did it on purpose make it more obvious that this was the case.
it always saddens me when such amazing artwork gets such little page views...
your art is inspiring and has a beautiful charm to it.
Thank you! Your words are too kind!
Nice lines, nice style, cool use of purple and light blue.
Just a tiny nit pick from me, one of the dots in the background is not symmetrical to the other side, *on the right hand side there are 3 dots in a line and the middle dot doesn't curve around the shadow*
like I said, that's just a tiny flaw that i happened to noticed. even if it was fixed i still would have given this a 4.5, always room for improvement.
seems your starting to get the hang of this, however keep everything constant, that plate is massive if that fork is normal sized, imagine trying to pick up that mug, you wouldn't be able to get your fingers in there unless it was the size of a jug. a lot of this picture seems "fake", its clear that you are trying to get a more realistic image, but i am sure you will get there in the end.
Why is the line-work for her belt and right hand a different colour to her boot and left hand? surely they should be the same. also i found her eyes very hard to read as they are very similar in hue to the skin. apart from them small issues, you have some solid lines, bold colour pallet and a quirky style.
You know what, you're right about the boot/hand deal. The color must have gotten a bit off there, no one caught it. The correct line color is right arm/belt. As for her eyes, that's how I wanted it, so that's done by design.
It's a good catch, I'll fix it for the buyer and shoot him a new file, as he didn't catch it either lol.
