i know your not going to touch this up but...

the shading on her hand is way to soft and blured... theres no real detail in her thumb where there should be lines and folds in the skin... the metalic highlighting is good... i like the shading and colours on the lips to bring them out... in short i feel the shading is far to bland... theres no detail in the shading *apart from on her finger and some areas of the face* the boldness of shade is nice but i feel that rushing it wasnt a good idea :(... oh well, you learn from your mistakes :3

Mrew responds:

You're right I'm not going to touch it up, but thank you for the critique.
It was more of a 'just-for-fun' face study.
But thank you for pointing those things out. :]

see theres not grey border this time :3

this one is cleaver... love the keyhole and find it quiet comical... i know you said this is an older one but non the less im going to point out stuff i like and dislike... you know the drill... right... her legs and wasit downwards is great... you can tell what it is with the simplistiy of it... however... due to the black and white colours... its very hard to tell whats going on in the middle at first... i know whats what but without the colour it could be somewhat confusing... im not keen on her arm as it looks like it would snap... not saying thats bad but its not as fluent as other pictures... also with no colour it loses that smooth blend almost pleasent to the eye... its very very bold and strong, im not sure it suits this very well, not to mention the black backgrounf behind making the curved lines disapear which is one of the main draws to your artwork... its nice to see your (you where) trying out new ideas, but i dont think black and white suits your style... but thats just me... i would give this a 6.5 but il round it up to 7...

It's interesting to know about people reactions. I like this B&W effect, though; so I'll try to pull it out better next time.
FUN FACT 01: All my pictures begin as a "Cyan & White" version before colouring.
FUN FACT 02: The word "Bizarro", in spanish, originally meant "bold".

Thank you for the comments! (and the extra 0.5, too!).

good linework...

very clean and crisp linework, love the creases in the cloth and the added details i know its on the anime side of things so i wont say anything about the size of the head... it seems to be at a strange angle compaired to the rest of her body... im not sure, it just dosent seem to look right... her right shoulder as well... im not sure if its to thin or the top half of her arm isnt wide enough... compaired to the rest of her arm... her arm strap seems strange as well... love the shading on this.. is simple and clean... the hands are perfect... areas that need work would be the neck area and her right shoulder... join up some lines which seem to be disconnected and it would be lovley... im really trying hard to find errors with this one... nice work... 9!

bloominglove responds:

Yah... I like to draw a bunch of big head anime people... lol. :P I am making her turn to the left a bit... Thank you for taking your time to check my art! :D

another wonderfull addition...

Love this one to bits... the simple NG grey background really makes it look cool and the simple lighting behind it just brings it up a touch... loving the shading on the pearls and lips, it justs shows how little amounts of colour can give it a huge amount of depth... not quiet sure on the necklass... doesnt seem to fall in the right place nor fit in (seen as they are all the same size... most likey copied and pasted) apart from some at the bottom which seem to have been squished and are now fatter... still loving the curves on the hair and body... wouldnt want to say anything that would make you change this truely iconic style of yours... 10/10 this time :3

BizarroJoe responds:

Hmm... The necklace beads are, indeed, copied and pasted because obviously the perspective won't change their actual dimensions... And that's why I found so strange that the beads at the lower end seem distorted,,they're only put one in front of each other... It looked fine in the vector file, maybe something wrong happened when exporting...
I've also noticed a really lighter square surrounding the image, I'll see if that can be edited (and watch out for not happening again in the future... although I was aware and careful this time, next time I'll crop one or two pixels for getting sure.)
Thank you for your comments, You've been really helpful!

Detail is key...

and my word have you done detail... the quality of detail in this is exteamly high... the finenes of the line and miror immage is great... left eye seems a tiny bit smaller then the right eye but i really love it... top quality work

Clean cut...

Very clean... very well done, very neat... i feel her forhead is a tad square or flat... and not as rounded as i would have thought it would have been... shoulders seem very far down as well.. but i love the shading and the qualtiy... 9/10

MangArtist responds:

Thank you!
Gotcha. This was supposed to be an anime portrait of my friend so I was trying to get some of the head anatomy to look the same, but I can see what you mean by it looking flat. Should have added more shading. -_-
Gosh, I see what you mean about the shoulders. O_o (just noticed)
Thanks again! :D

keep up the good work

one of the few true realism artists on newgrounds... love how you spend all the time on the face and leave the rest of it fairly average... love the tiny details that really make it something to behold... 10/10

xartez responds:

Wow man, thank you again for everything. :)

yet another lovely piece of artwork

the tree doesnt seem very realisitic due to the face the brances wouldnt be that close together nore would they have so little twigs coming of them... that aside, the colours are striking and deep a nice feel to the piece with the black widow spider along side a woman in very gothic clothes, love the attention to the face with the slighty red nose as if she is cold or has been crying (like she doesnt feel to good)... nice shine effect on the web string... and all the other little details that bring it up a touch... good work and would love to see more...

Mrew responds:

Thank you very much. :]
I have a hard time with trees in colour, I need to practise. :<

Love the colours and details...

the amount of details and attention to each one is very high... the linework isnt spot on but its bold and shows you what you need to see... bag strap *tri force* seems very flat and could use with some bumping up and shadows, the rest of it seems very good overall because theres so much to take it... and so many minor faults with it... but overall a good piece of illustration...

Leema-k responds:

Thank you very much for the comment. I see what you mean. Maybe i can fix it some how

like the doodle...

a few things look out of place for example her right shoulder looks strange with the fabric going down that much... also the top of her legs must be very toned to be that thin... seen as they get rather fat as they progress down... also her left hand seems small and same with her wrist...

suzuki-zombie responds:

Hey thanks a bunch dude. I'll use that advice in future art.
